New Year. New Beginning

Happy New Year!

Hi! I’m Mike! This is my BLOG! Specifically, this is a blog about my road to healthy living throughout this year and beyond. I am a husband, dad (and doggie dad) with a full time job so this is about getting healthy from the busy person’s perspective. So I’m hoping the things I do and my lessons learned will help other busy people get healthy.

2020 will about getting myself into a healthy state. Eating healthy and exercise will be the focus. If I get these two things right, I know I will lose weight. January 1, my weight was 217.8 with a 32.7% body fat. I am 5’8″ so I am at a very unhealthy weight. My goal is to lose 50 lbs and get down to 167 lbs by the end of this year. I’ll be doing this by going mostly vegan, yes I will be eating primarily a plant based diet. There will be occasions when I will have to go non-plant based, but that will be the very infrequent exception. Oh, the plant based diet is not just to lose weight, this is a lifestyle change. The exercises will be home based (exercise bike, exercises on the floor), outdoor activities, and doing everyday things like taking the stairs to help exercise throughout the day.

Today, is January 9, so I’ll post something in the next couple of days about my week one progress. I will be posting every Thursday or Friday with my weekly weight loss updates. I will also post from time to time about health related things that I am doing.
